First thing first, before you start choosing a new pairs of sport sunglasses, let’s share with you some tips of taking care of your sunglasses:
ON YOUR FACE, OR IN YOUR CASE
- It’s that simple: when you’re not wearing your sunglasses on your face, just put it in a case or a pouch so that you won’t ruin them.
- It sounds simple, but it’s always the number one tip to prolong the life of your sunglasses.
- There’re lots of risk to scratch or lose your sunglasses if you put it on your head, around your neck, or hook at your shirts.
- Rinse your sunglasses under a gentle stream of tap water. Make sure there is no dust left on the lenses.
- Gently shake the glasses to eliminate most of water from the lenses.
- Carefully dry and rub the lenses and frame with microfiber cloth or pouch which usually come with the sunglasses.
- In case of excessive oil, apply optical cleaner or isopropyl alcohol (75% or less) on the microfiber cloth and gently rub the lenses to remove the oil
- Don’t use glasses cleaner with ammonia.
USE A MICROFIBER CLEANING CLOTH
- Don’t use your t-shirt or paper towel to rub your sunglasses as they may scratch your sunglasses, even if your sunglasses are claimed scratch resistance.
- Most sunglasses lenses are made with polycarbonate, and some of them may have added a scratch resistance coating, but it still can be scratched.
