How 2nu started
2nu was started in Hong Kong in 2013 with a straightforward objective: build better performance sunglasses for people who actually use them outdoors.
From the beginning, the focus was not fashion-first eyewear. It was stable fit, clear lenses, reliable coverage and materials that hold up through sweat, sun, trails, roads and seawater exposure.
That focus still defines the brand today.
Built around real conditions
Outdoor use is demanding, especially in places like Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore where heat, humidity, glare and sudden weather changes are part of normal use.
That is why 2nu products are developed around practical performance: secure fit during movement, lens clarity in changing light, comfort over long sessions, and durability for coastal and seawater conditions where applicable.
We make decisions around use first, then design around them.
What matters to us
We care about getting the fundamentals right: fit, optics, durability and honest product decisions.
If a pair of sunglasses performs well on a run, on a trail, on the water or through a full day outdoors, it has done its job. If it looks good but fails in use, it has not.
That is why 2nu is performance-led. We build sunglasses to be used, not just worn.
Why we stay online-only
2nu is intentionally online-only. We would rather put the cost into lens performance, materials, construction and long-term product value than into retail rent, store overhead or layers of middlemen.
That approach helps us keep premium outdoor sunglasses focused on what matters: better performance for the price, clearer product choices and direct support for customers who actually use their gear.
